Mackenzie's Maternity Shoot

Mackenzie was beautiful on her photo shoot day.
They are waiting to welcome their 3rd boy into this world,
to a family who has been anticipating his arrival.
She epitomized the word "glowing" while pregnant.
We took a stroll into the backyard to take pictures in her hammock,
from where she spent many sunny days watching the older boys play.
And sometimes those big boys joined her, in swinging back and forth.

Hederich's & Family

I love my neighbor's.  And the extended family was great!  Such a good looking group!
The sweet youngest one of the group smiled the biggest when she was running free.
Grandma and Grandpa were so adorable!

I want to introduce you to the Kuklin Family.  This is one of the strongest, faith filled families I know.    Krissy, the wonderful mother of this family, was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time.  She and her husband are such an inspiration to me.  He is her Rock, and they love one another so much!  This family is pulling together so closely that I have been inspired in my life to emulate them.  I had the privilege of taking their family pictures before she started her treatments a few months ago.  Josh, the oldest is in the Army, and was able to be home for the weekend to be with his family.  He had to leave right after the shoot back to the base, but not before he gave his mom a great big hug!

 I just love this family!

Deeksha's Indian Hindu Cradle Naming Ceremony

This event was one of the highlights of my time doing photography. There was so much joy, and love for little Deeksha, who had come to them. I believe I will always remember the image of her grandmother and matriarchal women holding the ceremonial plate and singing to her softly the traditional chants and blessings that she was to receive. Guests would dip their fingers in one of the bowls and touch the top of little Deeksha's head. It was beautiful to watch. Each person at the celebration wanted to hold her, and take a picture with her. After the time that I had been hired to photograph, they offered me some of their elaborate Indian buffet. I accepted quickly. As I sat at my table eating, I stopped for a moment and surveyed the room. It was filled with stunning colors from the women's dress. It was filled with laughter and love. What a beautiful custom, and beautiful culture. Again, a highlight!
